Chip Iron

The base is an old piece of Pine shelving, London 1973, I remember. The Iron is vintage Piemonte, restored.

Normally irons are used domestically to smooth clothing, or in industrial processes to flatten materials. Wood planes are used to smooth out the surface of wood.

So why not merge methods and iron the undulations in wood ? This is what happens !

This is the wood chip or sawdust version.

Materials: Pine wood, pine wood chips, iron, lacquer, oil paint.
